Since inception in 2007, AFAC had supported 1,737 projects across the Arab world and globally. Starting with 27 grants in 2007, the number of supported projects kept rising slowly, exceeding 100 grants in 2012 and reaching a peak in 2019 with 225 grants.

The AFAC-supported projects are concentrated in the Arab world, with fewer projects implemented globally. The regional projects cover 20 Arab countries so far: Algeria, Bahrain, Comoros, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, and Yemen.

Although numbers vary from one year to the other, statistics related to emerging artists and women grantees retain a steady ratio of roughly 42% and 30% respectively, while around 27% of the projects supported annually are implemented by institutions. The number of supported projects varies between programs, ranging so far between a minimum of 6 projects and a maximum of 30 projects per program.
