In a marginalized village in southern Egypt, dominated by patriarchy and oppressing priests, a group of Coptic teenage girls forms an all-female street theatre troupe, challenging society traditions and fleeting transition between childhood and adulthood. “Land of Women” is a hybrid documentary that engages with the girls using performances, songs, reconstruction of dreams, confessions and self-portraits, chasing the wildness and elusiveness of being young.
