The Arab Fund for Arts and Culture – AFAC is announcing the call for applications to its second cycle of grants programs, opening on May 15, 2020. Applicants may submit their project proposals exclusively online on the AFAC website to the Cinema and Music grants programs. Submissions to the Research on the Arts program will open in June (exact dates will be communicated soon).
Applications to the cinema and music programs must be submitted before the deadline of August 1, 2020 at 12 midnight Beirut time.
Applicants are invited to check the eligibility criteria, evaluation process and FAQs for their corresponding grant program before applying. To apply, please log in with your username and password. In light of the challenges brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic and its adverse impact on the arts and culture sector, AFAC will exceptionally cancel the Training and Regional Events grants for 2020 and divert some of the funds to emergency support for immediate needs on the ground. That said, we will be closely monitoring the situation and making necessary adjustments when needed. Also, and in response to the current health crisis, artist fees and institutional running costs’ limits covered by AFAC grants will be exceptionally increased this year up to 50% of the requested grant (as opposed to the usual 20%).
