Amina Kadous is a Cairo-based documentary photographer. Her work explores concepts of memory and identity, examining how both are defined and redefined over time and space. Drawing from her personal stories, her work seeks to preserve collective memory, history, and cultural heritage, reclaiming public spaces and memories to counter erasure and loss. Her work has been exhibited widely in Egypt and internationally. She is also the recipient of many awards: The Global Focus project award (2026), the Sheikh Saoud Al Thani Award (2023), the Prix de la Photo Madame Figaro at the Arles Photography Festival (2022), The Contemporary African Photography Prize (2022), and the Centre Soleil d’Afrique Prize at 12th Bamako Biennale of Photography in Mali (2019).
