This seven-volume graphic novel series is set in contemporary Cairo amidst a zombie pandemic that leaves almost no one alive, except for those inside the city’s prisons. When the zombies lay siege to the prison walls, guards and prisoners discover their need to join forces to protect their lives and rebuild civilization. The series explores the contradictions of places of repression becoming places of refuge, using this reversal as a lens through which the contradictions of Egyptian society can be examined.
