In a small English town, an immigrant father named Mohamed shoots his three children but chooses to spare his ex-wife Bedia. In his eyes, her punishment will be to live. We go back to the beginning of their story and follow the slow deterioration that led to this end: Bedia’s transformation from a downtrodden girl to a modern woman, Mohamed’s loss of power and status, a violent marriage, a bitter divorce.
