In 1952, Tahar, a Kabyle worker in France, was institutionalized in a psychiatric hospital, where he remained until his death. In Algeria, he left behind a wife and five children – including the filmmaker himself – who lived with the stigma of having a husband and father labeled insane. The film asks: what was Tahar’s life like before he crossed that invisible front that led to solitude and then madness?
