Animals of the Stolen Land

In Animals of the Stolen Land, a Palestinian ghoul’s soul is denied rest. Haunted by a crow’s command, he sets out to free the taxidermied animals imprisoned in a museum at an Israeli zoo built on his stolen land. As his rescue unfolds, the animals reveal their own Nakba stories, drawing the reader into a surreal journey into the past. The graphic novel reclaims the environmental narrative, set against the backdrop of Israeli control over natural spaces reshaped to serve colonial settlement plans.
