Balkan Road is a graphic novel that departs from the first thought that came to us, the survivors, three girls who crossed the Mediterranean Sea and traversed the Balkan countries: “It’s a miracle we survived.”

In the novel, an attempt to talk about the experience, the author retraces the journey she began on September 24, 2015: leaving Damascus for Turkey, crossing the sea to Greece, moving through the Balkan countries and on to Germany, where she now lives.
