Not Here, Not There

The events of the “Not Here, Not There” graphic novel starts right after the August 2020 explosion in Beirut, when the city awakens to destruction on the streets and in the psyches of its residents. From the perspective of a protagonist planning to leave the country, we follow the time that stopped at that moment, when what was was, and the city hollowed itself out to the people that live in it from all social backgrounds. Not Here, Not There is a literary graphic novel about the decline of the city and, with it, the country, the abandonment of them in both mind and soul, and the attempts to process the tremendous catastrophe and shock.
