Within the framework of its socio-historical context, the biography of “Set Badrieh” (1915-2001) is a project focusing on this visually impaired and illiterate popular singer and poet from 1948 Palestine. It monitors the geographic, gender, and class interactions of centers and margins, as well as the “traditional” cultural genre she performed. The project brings her back to the forefront despite the layers of marginalization, the elitist centralized history and the rarely recorded social history.
