“Cairo - Back and Forth” documents life on a third-class train carriage over several trips from the photographer’s hometown of Ashmoun, to Cairo, and back. A student reviewing his homework, strangers playing cards, someone arguing politics… Snapshots from a liminal world come together in this carriage, mapping out a grander socioeconomic construct and how its residents interact with one another.
