Rasha Azab is an Egyptian journalist and writer. She received a bachelor’s degree in media education from Cairo University in 2004. She began her career in 2000 when she founded an independent amateur theater festival. She also edited the book Amateur Theater that looked at the different theater troupes in Egypt and has contributed to several Egyptian, Arab, and international newspapers, websites, and online platforms, including Al-Modon, Mada Masr, Megaphone, Raseef 22, Zeit Online, and weiterschreiben.jetzt. She also has worked as a researcher on several documentary films, including The Day I Ate the Fish (2015) with Aida El-Kashef and Take My Eyes with Ahmad Abdallah El Sayed. She edited the text for the illustrated book Cinema Cairo (2017) and wrote the introduction for Dream Factory on the Nile (American University in Cairo, 2018), which documents the history of Egyptian film production. In addition, she wrote the screenplay for the feature film Hot Bath (2018), which was directed by Manal Khaled and premiered at the South by Southwest festival.
