Palestine
Yasmin Fedda is a Palestinian artist, filmmaker, cultural producer, and academic. Her films, including Ayouni (2020), Queens of Syria (2014), and Breadmakers (2007), have screened at festivals including Sundance, CPH:DOX and Carthage, and were broadcast on television. At these festivals and others she has earned awards for Best Film, Best Director and Best Prototype in addition to a BAFTA nomination. Her work has been exhibited in diverse venues — including the London Underground and the Special Olympics. She has led multi-arts festivals and events across several countries and had artist residencies at the British School at Rome and the National Theatre Immersive Storytelling Studio. She holds an MA in Visual Anthropology, a PhD in Trans-Disciplinary Documentary Film, and is a senior lecturer in Film at Queen Mary University of London.
