Lava Ahmad worked in the humanitarian field for four years with internally displaced people across Syria’s governorates until 2017. She then moved into voice-over work. Later, she studied cinema, and, in 2020, she began photographing her surroundings using her mobile phone, capturing the city through the birds, buildings, people and the despair and sorrow lying behind these sights. After the fall of the Assad regime, photography in the city became more accessible than before, allowing Lava to enjoy her preferred mode of storytelling through images.
