Samy Sidali was born in 1989 in Hauts-de-Seine to Moroccan parents. At 18, he moved to London where he studied cinema at the University of the Arts London. He worked for two years at a London-based creative agency. Back in Paris at the end of 2017, Samy developed several short films and documentary projects in hybrid formats. In March 2020, he shot his first produced short film, JMAR, in Morocco. In June 2021, he shot his second short fiction film P.D.O. In 2021, he shot his first short documentary in Casablanca, Petit Taxi, which premiered at IDFA 2022.
