Shehab Tarek is an Egyptian journalist whose work focuses on antiquities, heritage and urbanism. He writes for Akhbar Al-Adab newspaper and Bab Misr website. He received the Dubai Press Club’s Arab Youth Media Award in 2021 for his investigative work on antiquities and heritage and the Heikal Foundation Award for Arab Journalism in 2022 for his cultural and heritage investigations. That same year, he was awarded the Union of Arab Archaeologists Award for his role in defending Egyptian heritage.

Shehab has delivered lectures on urbanism and heritage, most recently in Kazan, Russia, at the Kazanysh International Forum for Architecture, as part of the Association of BRICS+ Cities and Municipalities Network.
