Safana Bakleh

Safana Bakleh is a Syrian harpist. She graduated from the High institute of Music- Damascus in 2008. She has been playing as a soloist as well as a member of various musical groups in Syria, such as Mary Orchestra, Nada Orchestra, Damascus Orchestra and the National Symphony Orchestra. She is a harp teacher and a solfege teacher at the High institute of Music-Damascus. She is also the co-founder of Gardenia Women Choir, which has been working on many projects since 2016. She is the main orchestrator of the choir's musical works and she is also a high soprano singer, section trainer and executive manager of the choir.   Gardenia choir is a group of Syrian young ladies, who are music academic students and graduates, working to promote the values of peace and social tolerance inside the Syrian community which is suffering from war effects, by presenting various musical works of artistic and humanitarian values at the same time. During the last three years, the choir performed a variety of classical and modern repertoires, as well as original projects such as reviving old cartoon songs and producing an album under the title: Syrian traditional wedding songs, funded by The Cultural Source.
