Tahar — the director’s father — spent 50 years in a psychiatric hospital in France. Before his institutionalization, he was just one of many Kabyle immigrant workers in France. A story of exile and madness set against a colonial and postcolonial backdrop, which upends the lives of Tahar and his impoverished family who remain on the other side of the Mediterranean.
