This collection of short stories combines realist storytelling with abstract symbolism to explore the notion of “total war:”a war that extends beyond military fronts to encompass the assault on identity, women’s autonomy, and national memory. The project delves into the silent wars unfolding in homes, institutions, and within the self, viewing the armed conflict in Sudan as the tip of the iceberg of deeply rooted social, class, gender, and identity-based conflicts.
