Quartier-mère is about how motherhood and the burden of caregiving continue to render women invisible. To exist, women create. They write, film, build, often in precarity. At Lafayette in Tunis, the project takes note of these gestures in the street, transforming a pedestrian section into a space where care and creation become visible, and are discussed and shared.
