The early days following the fall of the Assad regime marked a turning point in the lives of Syrians, yet these days were accompanied by a profound shock for many. Eyes were fixed on the prisons, from which only a few thousand detainees emerged out of the hundreds of thousands who had been held captive. This led families to organize and demand truth and justice. Searching for the Truth follows the experiences of families of the disappeared in Assad’s prisons in their quest for answers, through photographic stories across different regions of Syria.
