Suni'a Bisihrika (Made With Your Magic) is a group exhibition that takes inspiration from Arab music maqams, but moves beyond a focus on their aesthetic structures and takes up instead a visual and intellectual approach that looks at the contemporary political and artistic moment in the region. The project reflects on the history of maqams to challenge notions of national and linguistic identity, as they represent a rich artistic diversity that has survived cycles of exclusion and wars.
