The cinemation animation competition was named after the late Yemeni director Samira Abdu Ali. The project aims to encourage creativity and competition among youth practitioners. It also aims to explore the cultural heritage of Aden, the birthplace of Samira, through short animation films. The competition was held for the first time in 2022.
