The project is based on Hassan al Wazzan (1494-1555), who became Jean-Léon de Médicis under Pope Leo X, also known as Léon l'Africain. He is the main character of the novel bearing his name written by Amin Maalouf in 1986. The project follows Hassan al Wazzan’s temporal journey in the 16th century, a crossing of the emblematic places of his travels that he described in his book Description of Africa; and is a fiction that reflects on our time as we do on the 16th century unfolding in several forms: sculptures, video and immersive video games in VR.
