“Get up, Mariam”, a collection of thirteen different stories, narrates the life of a group of people, with their problems, concerns, sufferings, fears, poverty and helplessness. This group resides in one of the peripheral cities of Damascus which did not take part in the war, yet did not make it. All events take place at one particular time, namely during the Syrian war.
