Rivers of Sound consists of 17 musicians coming from a broad spectrum of musical styles. Together, the group creates new music that transcends established notions of style and convention. The orchestra includes Arabic, Indian, and Western instruments such as oud, buzuq, santur, joza, mrudangam, cello, saxophones, clarinet, oboe, microtonal piano, vibraphone, and guitar.
