The House Museum of an Unknown Crying Man

Mahmoud Khaled  |  Visual Arts  |  2019  |  Egypt
This artist book project is an extension of the installation that Mahmoud Khaled made for the 15th Istanbul Biennale in 2017. The project takes us back to the year 2001, when the episode known as "Cairo 52" or "Queen Boat-Cairo" took place. It refers to the arrest of fifty-two men on a floating gay discotheque called the Queen Boat.
The book will be produced as an object of remembrance for the history of the LGBTQI’s political struggle in Egypt.
