Performing Arts of the Oppressed: Supporting Dialogue and Innovative Thinking to Manage the Struggle

Nora Amin  |  Performing Arts  |  2011  |  Egypt
Taking Performing Arts outside of theatrical institutions and into public spaces and the streets, this performance is interactive and unique every time. It uses the theatrical model of the "Performing Arts of the Oppressed" by Brazilian writer Augusto Boal to feature real scenes from Egyptian society where oppression and conflict exist. The audience interacts with the actors to find a solution to the conflict, thus becoming a training for managing conflict in real life.
