The events in this story take place in the beginning of the seventeenth century at a victims’ shelter located on the outskirts of the Moroccan city of Fes. A Morisco man finds himself stuck between plague-inflicted people in a shelter, forced yet another time to witness human misery, after having lived through his family’s bitter experiences during the journey of mass expulsion from the Iberian Peninsula to the shores of the southern enemy country, Morocco
