Launched in 2008, the Damascus Festival Chamber Players brings together Arab performers and composers from across the region to exchange ideas, draw up future plans, present master-classes to musicians and students at the "Higher Institute of Music" in Damascus and tour around the region. A resulting album Syrian Contemporary Chamber Music was released in November 2008.
