This research project will examine the effects of lifestyle changes on the Bedouin communities of the northern Jordan, their music and cultural production. The goal of this project is to record a musical tradition that is rapidly disappearing as formerly nomadic tribes settle in villages where they are influenced by globalization, Western culture, and tourism.
