Theater De Beyrouth (1965-2005) is a book on the history of Lebanese theater, which revisits the establishment of Beirut’s first theater, Theater de Beyrouth, through various phases–– its golden years and the launch of cinema, the effects of war on theater and the postwar attempt to reclaim Beirut as a center of culture. It offers a parallel history of Beirut and its theater.
