Lal Jamila is an original screenplay and theatrical performance staged in Tangiers about two women revolting against authority—one, against her father-in-law, the other against everything in their community—politics and societal authorities. The play is not only about women’s conditions in Arab society but addresses the general relationship of people inside their community, the role of authority and their quest for freedom.
