“Gramophone” is an attempt to make the music archive accessible to Arabic-speaking Internet users by using open-source software and adapting social media to avoid traditional radio defects. Before its disuse, the Gramophone listeners reached more than 1 million listeners from more than 100 countries in 2014. The new project aims to support 10 local radio stations with the necessary technical and cybernetic solutions to establish radio stations that discuss the interests of people in their geographic range.
