The project is an accessible artist biography of Fahrelnissa Zeid. Fahrelnissa was a pioneering Turkish-Jordanian modern artist. For the last fifteen years, she has been the object of de-contextualized sporadic exhibitions. This necessary book will present her work to a contemporary audience, grounded in the modern cultural and political history of Turkey, Iraq and Jordan, dwelling on psychology, feminist art history and global modernism.
