Six films supported by AFAC will participate in the 44th International Documentary Film Festival Cinéma du Réel, taking place in various locations across Paris this month.
Five films are competing in the Documentary Africa section of the festival, which showcases contemporary African documentary films: “The Disqualified” by Hamza Ouni (Tunisia); “Talking About Trees” by Suhaib Gasmerbari (Sudan); “Before the Dying of the Light” by Ali Essafi (Morocco); “It Was Better Tomorrow” by Hinde Boujemaa (Tunisia); and the documentary film in progress “Fragments from Heaven” by Adnane Baraka (Morocco).
Additionally, a short film by Tunisian artist Wiame Haddad, “Hors-Titre”, will take part in the French Selection section. “Hors-Titre” was produced as part of Haddad’s AFAC-supported project “In Absentia”.
