Sara has exhibited internationally and was awarded grants from Magnum Foundation, AFAC, Prince Claus Fund, and Mophradat. Her work was shortlisted in Lang-Taylor Prize, Kassel Photobook Award, and Magnum Foundation Fund. In 2020, Sara began self-publishing her work in the form of hand-bound photobooks.
