Ma3azef is a cultural platform focused on music, engaging in critique, analysis, and new journalism. It undertakes extensive research projects, translation, regional training, and archiving. Among Ma3azef’s most prominent regional training projects is the Ma3azef School of Music Writing from 2015 to 2019. Ma3azef is a founding member and training staff of the Counter Academy for Arab Journalism, which has existed since 2020. Ma3azef’s artistic projects and curation include the New Approaches exhibition with the Kamel Lazaar Foundation in Tunisia in 2020 and artistic curation and development for the Sharjah Architecture Triennial’s Rights of Future Generations (RFGen) in the United Arab Emirates in 2019. The first Ma3azef conference on Arab music was held with the Sharjah Art Foundation in 2019. It ran Ma3azef Radio between 2020 to 2022.
