Mohammed Nammoor

 Mohammed Nammoor is a Syrian photographer and cinematographer born in Damascus in 1992. Since 2017, he has developed a distinctive visual practice that blends photography, video and documentary work to explore personal and collective experiences shaped by war, displacement and social injustice. His method is grounded in a humanist approach, challenging stereotypical portrayals and offering more nuanced, empathetic narratives. Mohammed’s projects center around childhood, identity and life on the margins, drawing attention to overlooked stories within Syrian society. 

His photojournalism and editorial photography work documents political, social and cultural realities across Syria and has been featured in international media outlets and publications, including Libération, Der Spiegel and Dazed. His work has also been showcased in international exhibitions, including at the Tasweer Photo Festival in Qatar (2025), Orient-Institut Beirut in Lebanon (2025), Darkroom Amman in Jordan (2024), as well as at shows in France, Germany and Spain.
