Chaghig Arzoumanian

Chaghig Arzoumanian is a filmmaker and film editor who works between Paris and Beirut. Her first feature film, "Geographies", premiered at the Cinéma du Réel in Paris. She has also edited several films, such as « Crossing the Seventh Gate » directed by Ali Essafi, which was screened at the Berlinale Forum in 2017.This same year, she published a photography book entitled « On Fools and Lands » that scrutinizes the history of the first mental asylum of Lebanon and the Levant.  Through her work, Chaghig is mainly interested in unfolding the different layers of territories and digging forgotten stories and linking them to the present. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Film Aesthetics at the University of Paris 8.
