Rania Rafei is a Lebanese filmmaker who lives and works between France and Lebanon. Her work explores the intersections between political history, intimate memory, and the body through hybrid documentary forms.

Her debut feature film, 74: The Reconstruction of a Struggle (2012), co-directed with Raed Rafei, premiered at FIDMarseille where it received the GNCR Award. The film subsequently screened at numerous international festivals including the FilmFest Hamburg, and the Centre Pompidou in Paris.

Her second feature documentary, The Day of Wrath: Tales from Tripoli (2026), premiered in the Forum section of the Berlinale. It explores the political history and identity of Rania’s hometown, Tripoli.
