SuperMelon is a collective established in Palestine, working at the intersection of food, land, and politics. It brings together land workers, cooks, artists, and researchers to explore food as archive, practice, and resistance. SuperMelon grew out of Round Edge, a Brussels-based non-profit organization founded in 2017, and became a standalone initiative co-founded by Yara Dowani, Besma Ben Said, and Hasnae Senhaji. It launched in April 2023 with Foraging Fireflies, a festival centered on what grows from the land. The project continued as a publication, a means of archiving against erasure, released in spring 2026 with 20 contributors. The Black Goat Festival grows directly from that work, but turns to a different political terrain: not what grows on the land, but what feeds from it.
