Muslim Habeeb is an Iraqi filmmaker and director with a diploma in cinema from the Institute of Fine Arts in Baghdad. He further developed his practice at the Iraqi Independent Film Center and through workshops in Beirut and Paris. He directed the award-winning documentaries As My Father Was (2017) and The Roof of The City (2019), which screened at international festivals and received awards including Best Documentary at The Hague and Tyre Short Film festivals. With over a decade of experience across more than 40 film projects, his work focuses on intimate, character-driven storytelling rooted in Iraqi realities.
