Tarek Turkey is an Emmy Award-winning filmmaker and cinematographer with over a decade of experience directing and producing documentaries across the Middle East, North America, and Europe. His work explores themes of identity, displacement, and resilience through character-driven storytelling that blends intimacy with strong visual craft. His recent projects include Ditches & Dreams (2025), Turning 20 (2023), and Return of the Taliban (2022), which received two Emmy Awards. Tarek is currently developing a feature documentary called What Remains and a feature film called Chronicle of Absence, while filming various international documentaries.
