Ali Asfour

Palestine
Ali Asfour is a Palestinian analog film photographer based between Ramallah and Amman. His work moves through the lived realities of displacement, identity, and resistance, documenting the textures of Palestinian life with an intimacy that resists erasure. Working with film is his way of slowing down, insisting on presence, and protecting what is constantly threatened with disappearance. Through cinematic framing and attention to everyday moments, he evokes longing not as nostalgia but as a political force—a way of remembering, reclaiming, and imagining beyond imposed borders. His work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Institute of Arab and Islamic Art (New York) and Enjoy Contemporary Art Space (New Zealand).
