Manar Idriss

Palestine
Manar Idriss is an art director, curator, and researcher based in Jerusalem. She holds two Master's degrees in Arts Management, specializing in Museums and Exhibitions, from the International University of Catalonia in Barcelona. She is currently preparing a PhD research proposal on cultural genocide. In her career, she merges practical experience in curating exhibitions with critical academic research, focusing specifically on issues of erasing visual heritage and the systematic destruction of cultural identity. Through this path, she explores how art can become an effective tool for preservation, expressing collective memory, and instigating societal transformation. The "Archive of Existence" initiative, her research and documentation project, represents the core of this approach, archiving the deliberate destruction of Palestinian cultural property to preserve narratives threatened with extinction and reconstruct a living narrative based on resilience.
