Hozaifa Elsiddig is a student of architecture at the University of Khartoum. Through his practice of painting, he has developed a unique technique of using the characteristics of oil and acrylic on paper to create rich textures. Hozaifa was highly affected by the revolution and the visual aspect of that period. He finds great interest in exploring the experiences of oppressed individuals, highlighting their coping mechanisms and the systemic nature of their oppression. His work aims to expose these issues and find empowerment while focusing on the personal rather than the collective experience. Hozaifa has been part of Downtown Gallery’s The Lab exhibition and ngara show.
