Rahma Diaa

Rahma Diaa is an Egyptian journalist and writer. She graduated from the Faculty of Mass Communication at Cairo University in 2012 and received a diploma in Media Translation from the American University in Cairo in 2018. She has worked with a number of Egyptian, Arab, and international newspapers and websites, covering a wide range of subjects with a particular focus on women’s and climate issues. She has received several prestigious journalism awards, including the Suzanne Zaki Award for the Environment from the Egyptian Ministry of Environment in August 2022, the Covering Climate Now International Award in 2021, and the Heikal Award for Arab Journalism in 2019. Her literary works include the short story collection A Dance with Al-Rumi (2017), Al-Naqshabandi (2022) which won the Khairy Shalabi Award for debut novels (2021), and Lady Cinnamon (2024), published by Al-Shorouk and shortlisted for the 2025 Katara Prize for Arabic Novel.
