Esraa Abu Zaid is a researcher of Memluk architecture and a historian of architecture. She received a BA in Islamic Archaeology from Ain Shams University in 2016 and continued her studies there, earning an MA in the same field in 2025. Her research focuses on documenting architectural heritage and studying the urban development of historic Cairo. She has contributed to a number of prominent research and heritage projects, including working as a restoration specialist on the Baron Empain Palace restoration project in 2016. Esraa has published The Urban Development of the Historic Bulaq District with the Barakat Foundation. She also worked as a research assistant on Zamalek Heritage Area (2020) and Garden City (2022), both published by the National Organisation for Urban Harmony.
